Travel Log: Japan Trip Day 3

This blog is a continuation of Monday’s blog.

We made our way downstairs for a complimentary breakfast provided by the Nishi Yaizu Hotel. It is quite delicious with a variety of foods including rice balls, potato salad, meat, and soup.

We then visited relatives in Fujieda, which is a small suburban town by Suruga bay. Within the city there was a good Yakiniku restaurant. We sat in a traditional restaurant with tatami mats (woven soft rush straw). The waitresses brought out raw meats and vegetables on plates and we cooked them ourselves.

DAY 1:

I recently had an opportunity to go back to Japan. I took the Singapore Airline Flight which left at 1:10 PM and arrived the next night at 6:30 PM in Narita Airport, Tokyo Japan. The 11 hour flight plus the time change can be challenging, but here were the things that kept me going:

We woke up and ordered room service breakfast and outside on the balcony. We then walked around the Hyatt shops. Pictured below is the lobby of the hotel.

We exited and made our way towards King’s Village.

We also walked towards Ohana Waikiki West where we stayed the last time we came to Hawaii. We also passed the theater where we saw the Hawaii Cirque du Soleil perform. Then it was time to say good bye to Hawaii. We rode a shuttle to the Airport and in the terminal we ate Burger King. We departed Honolulu, Hawaii aboard Delta at 1:36 PM and arrived at LAX at 9:05 PM.

After eating breakfast, our friend took us for a drive to where the old Molokai Ranch used to be. We went down to the old Kaluakoi Golf Course. It was so sad to see the remnants of what was once a beautiful golf course.

The Hawaii trip has thus far been a wonderful experience. On day 3, after eating a good Hawaiian breakfast, the family took us fishing on the South Shore. We were supposed to take the boat, but since the motor was not working we drove instead towards Hale O Lono Harbor and Kolo Wharf. We then set up fishing poles.
We had the whole beach to ourselves. The bait was squid and not much time had passed before Rocky caught a large Papi’o fish, which is a type of blue fin trevally. Our friend also caught one.

Before dawn we headed back to Honolulu Airport. This time we met up with two more friends, one of whom did not know we were going to be there. It was a great reunion. We all waited in the smaller terminal and then boarded Island Air on a 25 minute flight to Hoolehua, Molokai. I had never been on a small jet propulsion plane as pictured below:

When we arrived at the Molokai airport I was surprised at how small it was. I am standing at the lobby of the terminal in front of the Molokai sign. This island is known as the friendly isle.

Recently I had the opportunity to go back to the wonderful state of Hawaii. My boyfriend, Rocky and I left LAX in the morning via Delta Airlines. Since it was a 5 1/2 hour flight, it went by pretty quickly especially because I saw the fun action movie, Eagle Eye. We were seated in the window seats so around 12 pm, we had a good view as we flew into Honolulu International Airport in Oahu.
