5 ways of dealing with fear

  1. Talk to someone

Opening up about your fears can decrease distress. Also keeping your fears hidden, won’t allow for opportunities of help to come by.

  2. Focus on the little things

Little by little is much easier. Figure out how to combat your fears by giving yourself small baby steps. For example, combating your fear by sky diving may not be a good baby step.

  3. Find positive role models

They can be inspirational and provide key ways in helping you deal with your fears. Their courage can be calming and contagious.

  4. Use “mind-tricks”

Remind yourself constantly that the fear is not the end of the world. For example, if you have a fear of public speaking, you can use some “mind tricks.” Some people have imagined that they are speaking to children or that something is funny about the audience (that they have pumpkin hats).

  5. Practice

You can evaporate fear and gain self-confidence by practicing techniques to deal with fear. The more clear you are about how to handle something, the better you will be able to respond.
