Where feelings of abandonment come from

Recently I wrote a blog about how to deal with feelings of abandonment, but today’s blog lists sources of abandonment.

Relationships:

  • end of an intimate relationship.

  • significant other leaving the relationship for another person.

Childhood:

  • parents leaving their child.

  • traumatic experience.

  • divorce.

  • child replaced by birth of another sibling.

Worklife:

  • job loss.

  • demotion.

Grief:

  • loss of a loved one.
