This is walking facts and trivia tour through Disneyland Park. The tour paints a picture of Walt Disney’s vision, challenges, and hard work that went into creating this remarkable park.
My review of A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps Tour (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I was on the 9:30 tour, where we met with 4 other participants at the Tour Guide Gardens. Meal orders were taken and introductions were made. Then the tour began. These were the highlights/stops we made:
-
Town Square- Tour guide talked about Walt’s difficulties financing Disneyland.
-
Below Walt’s Apartment- story about Disneyland’s opening day.
-
Center Street-Ron Dominguez’s Window and Chinatown.
-
The Hub-The layout of Disneyland and the Partners statue.
-
Along the way, we heard walt disney talk about Disneyland Park in his own words.
The Enchanted Tiki-first watch the show then get to stay after the audience for additional presentation.
-
Rode the Jungle Cruise
-
New Orleans Square-The history of New Orleans Square and Walt’s last addition to Disneyland.
-
Club 33 lobby-The tour goes into the lobby of Club 33 where the club’s history is discussed. Note: The tour does not go upstairs and Club 33 merchandise cannot be purchased. Although we could not go upstairs, this was still a highlight! I recently tried to apply for Club 33, but unfortunately the waiting list is currently full, so this was a great way to experience.
-
Rode Disneyland Railroad from New Orleans to Tomorrowland
-
Tomorrowland Mural-More on Tomorrowland tributes.
-
Fantasyland-Dumbo and other Fantasyland attractions
-
Enjoyed a private lunch on Main Street, U.S.A.
-
Received an exclusive, collectible “A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” pin.
Overall I found it to be an interesting tour mixed with trivia, fun facts. It allows you to look at the park from a different perspective. You realize what a tremendous feat this was to create such a unique entertainment empire.
