Top Marriage Proposal Ideas at Walt Disney World

cinderella-castle-picture-052.jpg

Every little girl dreams of the day when their “Prince Charming” gets down a one knee to propose. One imagines the day as being special and romantic. What better place to propose than at the magical Walt Disney World. Here is a list of “magical” spots at Walt Disney World that would be a perfect place to propose:

Magic Kingdom:

  • Cinderella’s Royal Table (located inside the Magical Castle).

While I was on my trip, I witness a proposal here. Please be aware though: if your partner is a private person, this is not a great option. The whole restaurant sees this happening. If they are comfortable with the public, this can be a romantic way to propose. Disney even has a engagement package that is available at breakfast, lunch or dinner. For $300 plus 6.5% tax and 18% gratuity the package includes:

    • Preferred restaurant seating overlooking the Carousel

    • A photograph with Cinderella

    • Your meal, including a toast with non-alcoholic beverage

    • A crystal slipper engraved with your names and the date

    • A pair of decorated take-home champagne flutes

    • A Cinderella’s Royal Table lithograph

    • A personal photographer to capture the moment

Call (407) 824-4477 and at least 7 days in advance to schedule the proposal.

  • In front of Cinderella’s castle at night.

  • On the Peter Pan ride, as you fly over the lights of London.

  • By the Wishing Well next to the Castle.

  • At Adventureland to scout out the best proposal spot. If Pirates of the Caribbean is her favorite attraction and she has a soft spot for pirates, consider purchasing one of the small treasure chests in the gift shop and putting the ring inside. Technically you could also purchase an authentic pirate’s costume if you really want to go all the way with the Pirate Proposal.

  • Swiss Family Treehouse or even over on a Jungle Cruise.

  • Consider Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad or Space Mountain.

Resorts:

  • Beach at Walt Disney World Polynesian Resort, Yacht and Beach Club, or other resort beaches.

  • Port Orleans Resort-Horse drawn carriage.

  • The Grand Floridian will create a private dining experience for couples, with views of the fireworks and a personal butler to attend to all your needs. Contact (407) 824-2578 at least seven days in advance to schedule a private dinner at the Grand Floridian.

  • Grand Floridian Victoria and Albert’s is Walt Disney World’s premiere restaurant. The Chef’s Table at Victoria and Albert’s is an extra-special experience for any couple. There is only one Chef’s Table, with only one seating for one party each evening. The table is located in Victoria & Albert’s kitchen. The Chef’s Table cost per person is $150 plus 6.5% tax and gratuity. If you would like to sample wine pairings with each course, the total cost per person is $250 plus 6.5% tax and gratuity. A dress code is enforced. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie and ladies should be in evening attire (dress or pant suit). There is only one seating per night for the Chef’s Table, so it is hard to get a reservation, but well worth it. In order to reserve this highly sought-after table, call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) at 7 am (EST) exactly 180 days in advance, and select option #2.

  • Go to the spa together. The Grand Floridian Spa features a “Couples Room” where couples can enjoy specialized spa treatments such as massages and facials. For information call (407) 824-2332.

  • California Grill at the Contemporary Resort Another restaurant that is popular for proposals is the California Grill on top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Not only is this restaurant one of the best in all of Orlando, it also boasts amazing views of the Magic Kingdom Park’s fireworks show at night, complete with the music being played over speakers out on the balconies. Whether you propose over dinner or during the fireworks, you will literally be on top of the world with this proposal!

  • Take a daytime ride on Breathless, a beautiful, classic 1930s-style ChrisCraft boat that can accommodate up to 6 people plus the driver. This boat is berthed at Yacht Club marina. The cost for a 30-minute afternoon ride (available between 2:30-5:30 pm) is $95 plus tax.
