5 more personal development tips taken from Phil Mickelson

This is continued from the last introductory blog. Here are more personal development tips taken from Phil Mickelson’s One Magical Sunday.

  1. “Stop the activity at the peak of fun.”-Mickelson Family

Curiosity is one of the best things in life. It keeps one interested and seeking more. My parents took me to Disneyland, but only twice a year, despite the fact that I loved it so much. I didn’t get tired out and my curiosity was always at it’s peak. I also valued it much more.

  2. It’s important to have fun no matter what you’re doing.

Every one has bad days whether it be a sports game you’re playing or another hobby. The most important thing is to try to have fun no matter what.

  3. Obstacles can create opportunities.

In one chapter, Phil wrote about the obstacles he created to practice. These included trick shocks from under trees, behind bushes, and even hitting over a man’s head standing three feet in front of Phil. These types of shots helped him to become a better golfer.

  4. Importance of visualization.

Just as Phil uses the technique of visualizing his golf swing, I have used visualization for a number of things including singing. Visualizing myself on stage, singing effortlessly have helped me to refine my voice training.

  5. “Now that I’ve finally made it, I can tell you one very important thing I’ve learned along the way. And that is that the real magic is not so much in achieving the victory, itself. The real magic is in the journey we take to get there.”-Phil Mickelson

Everyone had a unique path towards their goals. The story behind the actual success is what makes life interesting.
