Many things can cause anxiety such as work issues, family problems, driving on the road, etc. Anyone can feel anxious, even celebrities. Last year, I wrote a blog on 10 ways to lower anxiety. Here are 5 more tips.
-
Schedule worry time.
Set aside 15 to 60 minutes to do all your worrying. Write down or draw all your fears. When worries come to mind save them as a list. It helps to release emotions in constructive ways and also contain your emotions during a designated time.
-
Engage your mind.
Get out and do something enjoy such as writing a bike, going to the beach, watching a funny movie.
-
Confide in someone you trust.
Discuss your fears with a good friend. Also you may want to seek help from a professional counselor.
-
Be social.
Sometimes it helps to be involved in social groups or volunteer to help others.
-
Keep a record of your symptoms.
For example keep track of physical symptoms such as trembling, lightheadedness, muscle tension, restlessness, fatigue, insomnia, or breathlessness. Also think of emotional symptoms such as excessive worrying, fearing that something bad is going to happen, poor concentration, irritability, and constant sadness. Be aware of what things make symptoms worse and what things make symptoms better.
