Persistent practice gives you strength.
Practicing daily can help you achieve anything. I’ve been voice training since I was 7 and the daily practices have not only helped me to become a better singer, but gain confidence.

The easy choice is not always the best one.
It appears as though the way to sing is with your voice. After all, they don’t call it voice training for nothing. It seems easy enough: voice= singing. However, once delving into the vocal music, you find that your whole body is the instrument (leg muscles to diaphragm) and the last thing to use is your voice.

Trusting your inner feelings.
It is important not to neglect how you feel and how you make others feel. In singing, you are directly linked to the audience. If it is painful for you to sing, it is 100x more painful for the audience to hear.

Silence is golden.
Before each performance I take at least 5 minutes to block out the noise around me. I don’t talk to me and people know not to talk to me. I quiet my inner self and put myself in a meditative state. In this way, I am calm and can create a calm singing environment. In life, we often neglect the importance of enjoying silence and slowing down.

The Sky is the limit.
Perhaps what makes singing and life so interesting is that there is always room for improvement. I look back at the 17 years that I have been voice training and while I value the improvements, there is so much more that I want to learn and improve on. The challenge can be exhilarating.
