I interrupt the travel log series, to write this blog about a recent professional men’s golf tournament I had the opportunity to attend. It was the third round of the 2009 Northern Trust Open held at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Mostly I followed the crowd of Phil Mickelson, whom I have been a long time fan. Golf is a great sport, since it feels quite interactive. You can choose to follow a player or players through each hole or sit at a certain hole and watch all of the players play. I did both to get different perspectives. Here are five things that I learned from watching this tournament.

After eating breakfast provided by the Ryokan (traditional inn) at Izu Prefecture, I went into the onsen hotsprings once again. It relaxes your muscles and the water makes your skin smooth. After saying our grateful thank you’s to the staff at the Ryokan, we began our driving tour around Toi. First we made a stop at Koibito Misaki Cape (also known as Two Lover’s Point) in Toi. There are statues here, as well as a gold bell. It is believed that if you ring the gold bell three times, you will succeed in love.

After eating breakfast at the Yaizu hotel, we drove with the relatives to embark on a two day trip to Izu Prefecture. We first made a stop at a traditional hand-craft arts center called Sumpu Takumi Shuku. It is a great area for people interested in crafts. There are gift shops, restaurants, handmade ice cream shops, theaters, and museums. Also, there are workshops where you can make crafts tie dye, woodwork, laser sand blast art, ceramics, etc.
Next we drove to Fujikawa rakuza in Fujikawa, which had the perfect view of Mt. Fuji, the tallest mountain in Japan.
This blog is a continuation of Monday’s blog.
We made our way downstairs for a complimentary breakfast provided by the Nishi Yaizu Hotel. It is quite delicious with a variety of foods including rice balls, potato salad, meat, and soup.
We then visited relatives in Fujieda, which is a small suburban town by Suruga bay. Within the city there was a good Yakiniku restaurant. We sat in a traditional restaurant with tatami mats (woven soft rush straw). The waitresses brought out raw meats and vegetables on plates and we cooked them ourselves.

DAY 1:
I recently had an opportunity to go back to Japan. I took the Singapore Airline Flight which left at 1:10 PM and arrived the next night at 6:30 PM in Narita Airport, Tokyo Japan. The 11 hour flight plus the time change can be challenging, but here were the things that kept me going:

Lucent L’amore Visionary Love Fest
It is an event held in Downtown L.A featuring artists, performers, musicians, etc.
A great way to view the beautiful Palm Springs scenery. There are also hiking trails, camping grounds and nature walks.
Located in Griffith Park, this site offers dinner and horseback rides. It is a beautiful way to see Hollywood and Los Angeles.
You’re never to old to spend time at Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth.

Take the day off
This year Valentine’s day is on a Saturday so for most people they already have a day off. Even if there’s nothing special planned, every couple should deserve a break and time to spend together.
Go to a place that has special meaning
This could be where you first met or where you first kissed. For me, it was where my boyfriend and I had our first date: Disneyland!

Create your own card
Handmade gifts can be unique and meaningful no matter what your artistic ability is. Cards can range from simple paper with origami and stickers, putting a message in a bottle, to hand drawing a scene or a portrait.
Write a song or poem
Finding creative ways to say I love you can truly touch the heart of your significant other. It doesn’t have to rhyme and it can be silly, but it will be a guaranteed hit.
-Continued from Hawaii day 4 blog-
We woke up and ordered room service breakfast and outside on the balcony. We then walked around the Hyatt shops. Pictured below is the lobby of the hotel.
We exited and made our way towards King’s Village.
We also walked towards Ohana Waikiki West where we stayed the last time we came to Hawaii. We also passed the theater where we saw the Hawaii Cirque du Soleil perform. Then it was time to say good bye to Hawaii. We rode a shuttle to the Airport and in the terminal we ate Burger King. We departed Honolulu, Hawaii aboard Delta at 1:36 PM and arrived at LAX at 9:05 PM.
