5 ways to have the best holiday season

  1. Keep within your budget

Finances can be especially tight this holiday season, so it is important to keep within your budget. It doesn’t meet the holiday will be dull and boring, but rather adjustments need to be made and you have to be clear on how much you will spend. I usually write down the budget next to the person’s name or an event so I can see how much I would be spending. If my budget is $1000/month I have to plan accordingly. Budgeting can be tedious, but it is worth every penny rather than going into further debt.

  2. Prioritize parties

This is the time for many holiday parties (your own, your friend’s, your family’s, your company’s, etc.). It is important to write down all days and prioritize which ones you will be wanting to go to so there is no double booking.

  3. Make a shopping list

I usually have the same list of people I give a gift to so I keep it year to year. Next to the people’s names, I jot what they generally like (hobbies, favorite things, etc.). Also I put potential gift ideas and places to get them.

  4. Write a list for Holiday cards and break it up

I keep the Christmas Card list and addresses handy every year as well. People can get creative with Christmas cards. Some have had their children make one to send, they’ve had photos, etc.

  5. Have fun decorating the house

It can be fun getting into the holiday spirit. People put up lights around their house. If you celebrate Christmas, decorating a Christmas tree, can be a fun event.
