5 important values that my boyfriend taught me
Sep 22nd, 2008 by Tina

Today is my boyfriend’s birthday, so I wanted to dedicate this blog for him. In the five years that I have known him, he has been a wonderful support, confidant, and best friend. He has taught me so much about life and has been a remarkable role model. These are 5 of many values that he has taught me.
-
Delayed gratification
Worthwhile things can take a long time. There is more to be gained with delayed gratification. Large feats such as buying a house, creating a business all takes time, but the process is rewarding. It leads to more long-term happiness, rather than immediate gratification, which can be brief.
-
Have an entrepreneurial spirit
Being comfortable is not always good, especially when moving forward with a career. He taught me to take business risks and try different things. I began this blog through his influence. I’ve made mistakes, but I have never regretted taking risks.
-
Mind is your limit, nothing is impossible
My boyfriend is optimistic, but realistic. He says that while you may not be able to achieve everything the way you want, you have to at least try. If you say before you start, you can’t do something then you won’t be able to do it. It is as they say in psychology, if you think you’re going to have a bad day, then you will have a horrible day.
-
Hard worker
No matter what endeavors he pursues (whether it be his piano, film composition, computer programming, golfing), he puts full focus into it. He measures his success, not by the outcome, but by the process and his ability to persevere through the toughest challenges. He takes each day as a learning experience.
-
Puts family first
Despite his busy schedule, he never loses sight at the things most important to him. He values relationships and places family and myself first.
