Whenever I travel, I have three parts: a travel checklist of supplies I carry with me, keep in mind ways to reduce travel stress, and lastly things to create memories and add to my scrapbooking.

  1. Take pictures

Photos are a great way to preserve memories. With digital cameras, it has even been easier. I usually download the photos onto Shutterfly and then I can order the ones I like, as well as work on various projects through the site.

  2. Record videos

This takes more work, but is worth it on longer trips. Sometimes I will take out a small video camera to record a video diary on my trips.

  3. Journal and pen

During downtimes, this is a great way to relax and summarize a day’s trip. Since I am a blogger I like to have these handy. Something about the feeling of writing is nice at times, rather than typing.

  4. Gather souvenirs

Perhaps it is because I am a scrapbooker, but I love gathering miscellaneous souvenirs. I keep all of my airline and admission tickets, pamphlets, stickers, etc. These can make for a great page to complement photos.

  5. Send postcards to family

My folks usually like to receive postcards whenever I travel. I also keep one for myself to put in the scrapbooks later.
