Britney Spears: What is the source of her problems?
Jan 8th, 2008 by Tina
As a social worker, I have never gotten used to seeing people hurt or go through a self-destructing behavior. Although I do not know Britney Spears, it is hard to watch her life spiral out of control. It reminds us that even celebrities are human with vulnerabilities.
There are many speculations as to her behavior, but it is hard to find out what is true and what is false. There are many possible factors and included are a few of the articles.
-
Postpartum depression
Lisa Angelettie, MSW from BellaOnline wrote about the reasons why Britney may be suffering from postpartum depression.
-
Media attention?
The Canadian Press debates the possibility of Britney Spears being a spoiled diva.
-
Bipolar Disorder:
Today show contributor Mike Celezic writes about this possible factor.
John M. Grohol, Psy.D. also wrote about the likelihood that Britney Spears may suffer from Bipolar Disorder.
People Magazine and US Magazine have also considered this possibility.
-
Stress
ABC News author Dan Child writes about the ties of stress and young stars.
One thing is certain, Britney Spears’ recent hospitalization at Cedars-Sinai Medical center under a 5150 hold, is a clear indicator that there are many issues in her life. John M. Grohol, Psy.D,recently wrote a blog on Britney Spears Hospitalized, involuntarily held for Mental Evaluation and I share similar concern and hope that she receives the care that she so desperately needs.
