Both of my parents have also been diagnosed with diabetes and have altered their lifestyles as well. Currently, my grandmother is undergoing evaluation to see whether she will have to have a couple of her toes amputated. This has been a huge wake-up call for my parents to the necessity of being vigilant in the areas of diet and exercise.
