Disney Birthday Contest

disneyland

This is from a contest run by The Disney Blog.

What is your favorite or most useful tip for guests of Disney’s theme parks?

My favorite tip for guests of Disney’s theme parks is when in doubt ask a Cast Member, but beware, otherwise you’ll be the topic of the day in all the Cast Member break rooms so don’t ask stupid questions. This tip is courtesy of my boyfriend who used to be a Cast Member. Question such as: “What time is the 7 o’clock parade?” is not a great question when you are looking at it. At the very least, be nice to the Cast Members. They have the power to make your trip magical or just make it average.

What everyone ought to know about making mistakes- Inspirational quotes

  • Making mistakes is scary.

As with anything in life, learning from mistakes and letting that be a stepping stone can make the difference between a successful person and not-so-successful person. It has taken me a long time to get over the fear of making mistakes. In order to complete challenging tasks or achieve goals it may be necessary to make mistakes and in doing so, learning from them. Igor Stravinsky once said, “I have learned throughout my life as a composer chiefly through my mistakes and pursuits of false assumptions, not by my exposure to founts of wisdom and knowledge.” Similarly Abraham Maslow, the famous American psychologist states, “It seems that the necessary thing to do is not to fear mistakes, to plunge in, to do the best that one can, hoping to learn enough from blunders to correct them eventually.”

7 qualities in a Healthy Relationships (FRIENDS)

friends

  • Albert Camus- “Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”

  • First and foremost, healthy relationships bring positivity into your life.

You feel energized and refreshed. You feel fortunate and humble. They are an invaluable part of your life and help shape who you are. If your surrounding network is filled with positive people, then you are bound to be a positive person too.

Top 10 things I do to be Stress Free

  • Sitting in front of the TV to watch CSI, 24, ER, sports!

Aren’t there times where you just want to get away, but you can’t because of time or work. TV can be a great supplement. Having a few good shows can not only be relaxing, but rejuvenating. After a hard days of work, it’s nice to be able to just sit down on the couch and watch TV. There’s nothing wrong with being a couch potato, well in moderation that is.

5 ways of getting motivated to do work

  1. Break it down to smaller pieces

Sometimes tasks are daunting merely because it feels as though you have too much to do. If you see it as a combination of many smaller pieces, you can plan your “attack” and get things done.

  2. Room for breaks

Knowing that you will be able to take breaks can help keep you motivated. Thank goodness for government regulations that require employees to take breaks.

  3. Money factor

Money can’t be the center of your world, but it is a necessity and a great driving force.

How to manage your time effectively in just 5 steps

Clock

  1. Write down a to do list

I am a fan of lists! Somehow writing the things I have to do and seeing it makes it more manageable. I noticed that breaking things down into detail can help me be more efficient, since I can estimate the amount of time each task will take. For example, instead of putting down “write the final paper for class,” I separate it to: “find resources, write the introduction, write the first paragraph,…conclusion,” etc. I can also plan out breaks or alternate with other tasks, so I don’t get bored or lose my concentration.

Here’s a way of visiting a patient in the hospital without confusion

Massachusetts Hospital

  • Call the hospital ahead of time for visiting hours and guidelines

Visiting hours vary depending on the hospital and area the patient is placed. Intensive Care Units will probably have stricter guidelines. Some places don’t allow children, not only for the health of the patient, but also for the health of the children.

  • Check with the front desk/ security on bringing gifts

Some hospitals don’t allow latex balloons or other products for allergy reasons! Also, there might not be space in the hospital rooms for large gifts. Some rooms might not even be rooms! Beware of curtain dividers.
